What to look for in a Name Necklace

Not all Name Necklaces are made the same. Jewellery is already hard to buy without all the added extras of looking at quality and value for money!

So, before you purchase anything, make sure you double check a few important things:

• Check the thickness of the name plate. Most companies out there are making name plates that are super thin, making them light and easy to produce. In some cases it means a cheaper product, but in most their prices are the same as ours. This means yours paying a high price for a thin product! Because their name plates are so light, they can bend easily and the chains can also snap due to their thinness. 

Our Name plates are available in either .7mm or 1.2mm . This insures that you receive a choice - the thinner option or strong and substantial name plate that will last you a life time.

• Check the type/style of necklace that is attached to your Name plate. This is such an important point. Some name plates come with a twist chain or a thin box chain attached to them. The problems that can happen with these are that they can stretch and break with wear. Also the weight of the name plate can also make them stretch and break.

Our name plates all come with a standard Box chain that is not too thick or too thin. With normal use, your chain should never stretch or become thin with wear.

• Check what types of stones are added to your name necklace. We use only genuine Swarovski Crystals and genuine Diamond (on request). These not only make your necklace more stunning, but can also add a sentimental touch to a gift for a special someone

• If you are ordering a Gold name necklace make sure it is not gold plated. Gold plating wears away, and although it is a cheaper option, eventually it will wear off and you wont be able to enjoy it anymore! Even with a guarantee, I would steer away from plating and go for a genuine solid gold name piece, or alternatively enjoy a Sterling Silver one!
